Essential Volunteer Support

We are always looking into ways to develop our services and respond to the needs of people affected by MND including carers and families. Volunteers may wish to use their unique talents, experience or varying amount of free time. We will find ways to utilise your support for example:

  • Event Marshalling
  • Counselling
  • Equipment Delivery Driving
  • Journalistic Support

There are many ways to support the association. We have created a Menu of Opportunities. It's aim is to help potential volunteers think creatively about using their skills and free time. You may not be aware that you have a lot to offer. Fill in the Menu and email it to: dawn.hamilton@scotmnd.co.uk

Career Development

Volunteering also provides an opportunity to develop your C.V. by adding practical experience to your qualifications. If you have been out of work for some time it may be a chance to get back in to the workplace. The Association is also pro-active in the development of skills for our volunteer counsellers by working in partnership with COSCA to provide specialist bereavement training.

Recieve Regular Information

As a volunteer you will be entitled to a free copy of Aware, the Association's quarterly newsletter. You also have the choice to recieve occassional information about events and a copy of our Christmas Catalogue by post.
